Writing Process

The writing process has five steps. Those steps are prewriting, drafting, revising, editing and, last but not least, is publishing.
In the prewriting step you have to jot down ideas you want to write about. Then you choose one of the ideas write more in depth. Prewriting helps us get started if we are stuck. We come up with a ton of ideas to choose from – maybe we think of something to write about in this step that we wouldn’t have thought of. It helps us to narrow our ideas down and to choose a subject and focus. This helps to organize our writing so it isn’t all over the place and is more organized.
Then, after prewriting, we head to drafting. In the drafting step you write your ideas down on paper. When you are drafting we look at our writing piece over and over again. Through multiple viewings we see what we need to improve on and how the piece has changed. Viewing these changes helps us to see what we improved on and what else we need to change.
The next step after you have finished drafting. You get to revising your pies in the writing process is the best part. You are looking at organization of your writing and, the strengths or weaknesses of your pies.
Then you get to the editing part, and you think about the spelling, grammar and mechanics. When you are editing it is important because
Since we are writing and someone real is going to read it we want to make sure our writing is good quality writing so we don’t have mistakes or embarrass our selves. The audience also might give you ideas for improvement.
